Adam Sommerville

Managing Director

Adam Sommerville

Adam has over 14 years’ recruitment experience gained within Banking/Financial Services, including experience of filling several accountancy and finance vacancies.

He achieved a 2.1 degree in Business Management, which included modules in Accounting, Economics, Marketing and Business Law. This gave him a great foundation of knowledge for the Financial Services world.

Adam has always worked with honesty and integrity with a transparent approach to recruitment, which has allowed him to build an established network of Clients and Candidates over the years. He shares many of the same values as those held by the Partners at Barnes Roffe and he looks forward to leading this exciting new venture.  

Nicola Rouse

Recruitment Manager

Nicola Rouse

Nicola is a recruitment professional with over 20 years experience providing a range of services and working with clients across a number of industries including professional and financial services.

She is involved in the management of the end to end recruitment process for permanent vacancies to include candidate attraction, writing advertisements, shortlisting, interviewing and offers of employment.

She possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to develop good working relationships with clients, candidates and colleagues and prides herself as an experienced recruiter who excels in creating a motivational working environment ensuring the highest standards are always achieved. 

Nicola’s experience includes over 4 years working “in-house” for Barnes Roffe, successfully leading numerous recruitment campaigns and placing high calibre candidates into positions that they really enjoy.

Outside of work, Nicola is a keen runner and is taking part in this year’s London Marathon.

Victoria Rua

Victoria Rua

Victoria has held a management recruitment position whilst working “in house” and has also successfully working for an agency so has had the opportunity of working on both sides of the fence.

She possesses recruitment experience gained within Banking/Financial Services and is also a CIMA qualified Accountant, so she is particularly well placed to work on vacancies for BR-Recruitment. She is originally from Switzerland but spent several years living in Portugal before permanently relocating to the UK 7 years ago. She is therefore fluent in 3 languages (English, French and Portuguese.

Shen Yap

Shen Yap

Originally from Malaysia, Shen went directly to Barnes Roffe from the London School of Economics having studied in Accountancy & Finance. Starting out on the Graduate Scheme, Shen was attracted to Barnes Roffe by the close, personal service that the firm prides itself on.

Shen’s specialism lies primarily in the area of tax planning. However, he is also one of the firm’s key figures when it comes to Business Solutions, offering clients quality operational strategies at the East London Office.

Shen is one of the key socialisers at the firm, making him popular with all his clients.
He has played a key role in the formation of this new venture and would be keen to assist with any recruitment requirements you may have.
